CentroScienza is the organizer of GiovedìScienza (“Science on Thursdays”), a cycle of conferences that reached the 39th edition in 2024-2025. We have organized more than 500 free conferences, with an estimated audience of 650,000, plus almost 3 million on-line views. Other strong projects are: Settimane della Scienza (“Science Weeks”), a wide array of initiatives aimed at schools and the general public that take place every year in Spring; Settimana del cervello (“Brain Week”), part of the international project coordinated by the Dana Foundation; Premio GiovedìScienza, an award for young researchers that reached its 9th edition; the curation and coordination of many science exhibits; and many more projects targeted to schools.
CentroScienza is an established player in the field of science dissemination, trusted by institutions and by the scientific community for its skill in designing and managing communication projects. Our mission is to tackle the cultural phenomena that scientific and technological progress has brought in our society. We are engaged in creating connections between the research community and society at large. This is done through different strategies: spreading a solid and critic techno-scientific culture; stimulating the curiosity of the general public; proposing new languages and enjoyable formats for communicating complex concepts; raising awareness of the fact that science isn’t done by a few people, isolated from the social context, and that scientifically informed citizens are better citizens on the whole; fostering scientific vocations, targeting specifically young people.
