2030 Social Impact Special Prize - INCLUSION OF ALL is the first award, launched by Gaetano Marzotto Award, dedicated to social impact for startups and business idea.
For the first time this year, the Gaetano Marzotto Award has launched an award dedicated to social impact for startups and business ideas: 2030 Social Impact Special Prize – INCLUSION OF ALL.
Endelea, an ethical fashion brand that sells online clothes and accessories created in Tanzania, was the winner. From over 30 start-ups and business ideas were selected 6 finalists, who on the morning of October 1st during a pitch day were evaluated by the final jury composed of Mursal Hedayat, Giovanna Melandri, Sophie Robè, Joe Colombano, Johannes Weber. The two best (Endelea and Diadem an in vitro diagnostic test for Alzheimer’s disease) went to the final on November 19.
The selection process of the 6 candidates who were able to access the semifinal involved 6 international players, members of the selection committee. Among them Torino Social Impact, a recognition of its role in the international scenario of the social economy. The other members of the selection committee were Anya Capital, BE-COME, Human Foundation, Katapult Accelerator, The Conduit London, Rancilio Cube, Toniic.
The startups assigned to Torino Social Impact have been analyzed by a pool of partners representing the various public, private, financial, technological and specialized components. In particular: City of Torino, Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, CRT Foundation – Growth and Development, Impact Hub Torino, Nesta Italia, Open Incet, Torino Wireless Foundation, 2i3T, I3P, SocialFare, and the Social Entrepreneurship Committee of the Torino Chamber of commerce.
The choice of Torino Social Impact as a member of the Award selection committee is a significant recognition of our vision for the development of generative ecosystems of social value, which is becoming more and more established also at European level. The role of territorial partnerships between public and private for the transformation of finance and business towards social impact-oriented models, which should no longer be considered a niche approach but the new foundation of the global economic system, will in fact be included in the future EU Action Plan for the Social Economy. This is the mission of Torino Social Impact, which has now become an international model.
