An interesting example comes to us from Torino Social Impact partner Consorzio Equo: it is DRINN GREEN, an initiative of social and work inclusion aimed at economically fragile people, which provides for the collection of discarded objects, production and special wastes and their reuse in specialized centers.

In this interview with Mauro Fedele, Director of Consorzio Equo, we discover how this project was born and has evolved, in line with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.

Impact Interviews | Cliff Prior – CEO of The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment

Torino Social Impact reinforces its international commitment through a new series of impact interviews to leaders and changemakers from around the world.

We are glad to introduce you Cliff Prior, CEO of The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG), the independent global organization promoting sustainable development and advanced education on impact investments.

Previously Cliff was CEO of Big Society Capital, the UK’s wholesale social impact investor and market developer; CEO of UnLtd the UK foundation for social entrepreneurs; CEO of Rethink for people affected by severe mental ill health; and has also worked in healthcare, elder care, social housing and homelessness.

Cliff has also participated as a government regulator and adviser across several social issue areas, and has co-founded social enterprises. He previously chaired working groups for the GSG on mission led business, impact investing wholesalers, and impact integrity.

Torino Social Impact is proud to be partnering with the GSG Global Impact Summit 2021, which will take place online from October 6-8 2021.

18 & 19/9 – Googreen Biodiversity Market – Italian regions

Giardino Forbito presents Googreen Regions of Italy, the Biodiversity Market on a national scale.

Torino Social Impact for Biennale Democrazia

Biennale Democrazia will return to Turin with the theme “One planet, many worlds”, which will start from our condition of inhabitants of a single planet, increasingly connected but at the same time more fragmented, and will focus on the factors that make it difficult to find common answers to global problems.

Biennale Democrazia is a cultural event promoted by the City of Torino, which aim is to spread a culture of democracy and put it to practice. It is an ongoing public workshop focused on the local context, while at the same time issues on a broader scale are also addressed.

The Chamber of commerce of Turin, through its platform for social impact entrepreneurship Torino Social Impact, is once again a supporter of this important initiative on the territory, bringing its contribution to the very rich program, with events conceived and designed with some of TSI’s 150 partners, including the exhibition Distributed and connected, five years of Hackability. Technology and design as an infrastructure for innovation”; the meeting Le Parole che curano” (Words that heal) by the Italian Network of Popular Culture; the event Diritto al cibo, buono, pulito e giusto” (The right to good, clean and fair food) by the Giardino Forbito Cultural Association with interludes by the Terra Madre Orchestra.

Furthermore, on Thursday, October 7, at 6 pm at OGR Torino, Mario Calderini will dialogue with journalist Vitaliano D’Angerio on the theme of ecological transition and social vulnerability.

Renewed the partnership between Torino Social Impact and 2030 Social Impact Prize

For the second year in a row, Torino Social Impact will be partnering with the 2030 Social Impact Special Prize, the award that aims at enhancing entrepreneurial ideas focus on tackling problems of inequality across Europe.

The prize is targeted at startups committed to finding solutions that address some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically numbers 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16.

Some of the selection criteria include: scalability – severity of the problem by the number of people affected; solvency – the problem is addressable with reasonable resources; and neglect – the problem is not currently widely addressed.

Winners will receive €30,000 of investment as a convertible note, access to system stakeholders and investors network.

Submission will be open from 9th September to 14th October at 2-0-3-1.com.
